AKANENDO by Akane

Akanendo is a space where I share my work in clay. The name takes shape from my own and nendo, the Japanese word for clay.

What draws me to pottery is its endurance. As one of the oldest human crafts, it holds a continuity that I find deeply moving. Clay carries the trace of the hand that shaped it, then lives on in the hands of others through use, ritual, and time. Each piece gathers meaning as it moves through life, sometimes lasting beyond a single lifetime.

Inspired by nature, texture, and the subtle beauty of objects meant to be lived with, I am drawn to forms that hold quiet resonance.

This is where I share that ongoing exploration.
